Laser Cutting
Laser cutting has revolutionised the manufacture of "flat" parts in engineering since its introduction in the past few years. Engments Ltd. is part of that revolution, with the consequential benefits to our own business and to that of our customers.
Extremely simple to program via a CAM link to the machines' CNC controller, most parts which can be drawn on paper with complicated profiles and contours can be cut with our laser cutting machine.
Engments Ltd. utilises an LVD Helius 2513 laser cutting machine in our main workshop at Chequers Road, Derby. With a bed capacity (maximum sheet size) of 2.5 metres x 1.25 metres, we can profile metal and certain other materials from 0.5 mm thick up to 16mm thick. Certain restrictions apply on material thicknesses depending on the type of materials involved. For example, aluminium can be successfully cut with an acceptable edge only up to about 8mm thick. Please talk to one of our engineers about your specific requirements.
We are happy to produce laser cut parts for you to process independently or, of course, we can integrate cut parts within our other production processes such as bending, welding, powder coating, etc.
This machine is suitable in many cases for small quantities through to large volumes. We welcome your enquiries and will be happy to advise on any technical aspects.
For thicker parts beyond the capacity of the laser cutter, we offer High Definition CNC plasma cutting and would be happy to advise on any details.
